We will have five bridesmaids, one flower girl, and five groomsmen.

Emily's attendants are:

Amy is Emily's first cousin. Even though they grew up 300 or so miles apart, the brotherly friendship their fathers (Larry and Kenny) shared kept them close. And while threats of "I won't be your cousin anymore" were thrown around when they were fighting as kids, they are close friends. (Despite the threats, they are also still cousins.) Amy is in the middle of planning a wedding as well. She and Chris Durbin will be married April 9, 2005.
Crystal and Emily became friends during their freshman year in high school. Participating in band, flag corps, drama club and many other activities kept them inseparable. After high school, their lives went on separate paths, but they remain very close. Crystal is also in the middle of planning a wedding. She and Vance Morelan will be married on November 5, 2005.
Jordynne is the youngest of all the attendants. She will have just finished kindergarten by the time she is our flower girl. Jordynne is the daughter of bridesmaid Crystal.
Sarah is Mike's little sister and has agreed to be our junior bridesmaid. The day before our wedding, she will graduate from the 5th grade. At the time we're writing this, she just celebrated being on the "A" Honor Roll.
Emily met Tracy in college. Emily and her friend Gretchen were looking for a 3rd roommate to live with them in an apartment off campus. Tracy answered the ad for a roommate. They became great friends even before moving in together. And though the apartment was less than desirable, they remained friends. Emily and Tracy even worked together for a short time at JWT.
Emily met Dana through Tracy. Dana wasn't a roommate at the "less than desirable" apartment. But, she might as well have been. Dana, Tracy and Emily spent a lot of time together during the last two years of college. They're all still close now that they're in "the real world." They manage to get together for a girls night every month. Dana was married on March 22, 2003 to Mike Shanfeld. So, she's a pro at this wedding stuff! She and her husband actually live less than a mile away from Emily and Mike.

Mike's groomsmen are:

David and Mike have survived two employers together and arguably spend more time together than Mike and Emily. David is both a great designer and a great friend as well as designing this great website for us.
Jay is Emily's brother. Mike and Jay have gotten to know each other in the past 2.5 years through family get-togethers, holidays, and even double dates with Mike and Emily and Jay and JJ. They both look forward to having a brother after the wedding, as all they've had to this point is one sister each. That's no fun (just kidding, ladies!).
While Mike and his father (also named Michael) never knew each other while Mike was growing up, they've spent the last few years making up for lost time. Getting to know his dad is the reason Mike came to St. Louis in the first place, so you could even say that Mike's dad is the reason he met and fell in love with Emily.
Aaron and Mike have been friends (and sometimes coworkers) for the past 3 years. Aaron has been a professional influence and solid work partner. Mike and Emily look forward to more double-dates with Aaron and his wife, Hilda, in the future.
